Clear acrylic perspex sheet, also commonly referred to as Plexiglass or Perspex sheet, is a high-quality, transparent plastic sheet material offering excellent strength, clarity, and durability. Our 3mm clear acrylic sheets are manufactured from premium cast acrylic (PMMA) and are suitable for a wide range of domestic, commercial, and industrial applications where optical clarity and a professional finish are required.

Clear acrylic perspex sheet is widely used as a safer, lighter alternative to glass while maintaining superior visual performance. With excellent light transmission and a smooth, high-gloss surface, 3mm clear acrylic sheets are ideal for applications requiring transparency, precision, and long-term performance.

Optical clarity

Clear cast acrylic offers an exceptionally high level of optical clarity, allowing approximately 92% of visible light to pass through the material. This level of transparency exceeds that of standard glass and results in a crystal-clear finish with minimal distortion. Unlike glass, acrylic does not develop a green edge tint, making it particularly suitable for display and glazing applications where appearance is critical.

Because of its outstanding clarity, 3mm clear acrylic is frequently used as a direct alternative to glass in both residential and commercial environments.

Strength and durability

Despite being lightweight, cast acrylic is up to ten times more impact resistant than glass. At 3mm thickness, the material offers an excellent balance between flexibility and strength. In the event of damage, acrylic will crack rather than shatter, significantly reducing the risk of injury. This makes it a safer option for use in public spaces, homes, workshops, and retail environments.

Cast acrylic is also one of the hardest thermoplastic sheet materials available, allowing it to retain its attractive appearance for longer than many other plastic alternatives.

Lightweight

Clear acrylic sheets weigh approximately half the weight of an equivalent glass panel, making handling, fabrication, and installation far easier. This reduced weight also lowers transportation costs and makes acrylic a practical choice for projects where structural loading or ease of installation is a concern.

High gloss finish and easy to clean

The naturally smooth, high-gloss surface of clear acrylic provides a premium finish that enhances the appearance of any project. The non-porous surface is easy to clean and maintain, requiring only mild detergent and a soft cloth to keep it looking clear and polished.

Weather resistance

Clear cast acrylic has excellent resistance to weathering, moisture, and UV exposure. When used outdoors, it maintains its clarity and mechanical properties for many years without significant yellowing or degradation. Under normal environmental conditions, cast acrylic can retain its appearance for decades, making it suitable for long-term exterior applications.

Ease of fabrication

3mm clear acrylic is easy to work with and can be cut using laser cutters, CNC routers, or fine-tooth saws. It can be drilled, bonded, polished, and thermoformed using standard acrylic fabrication techniques. This makes it suitable for both professional manufacturing and DIY projects.

Manufacturing process

Cast acrylic is manufactured by pouring liquid monomer between two sheets of high-quality glass and polymerising it in carefully controlled batches. This process results in superior optical clarity, consistent thickness, and improved surface quality compared to extruded acrylic.

Recyclable material

Cast acrylic is fully recyclable and can be converted back into its original raw material, the monomer. This makes clear acrylic a more sustainable plastic option when disposed of responsibly.

Cut to size acrylic sheets

Our cut to size acrylic service allows you to order 3mm clear acrylic sheets at the exact dimensions you require, eliminating waste and the need to purchase full sheet sizes. Sheets are supplied with a protective film on both sides to prevent scratches during handling and installation. Optional services such as drilled holes, rounded corners, and polished edges are also available.
